Quinceanera: The Mass

Mass or presentation in the temple is an appreciation and preparation for the new challenges of the girl who is almost a woman. The Dress, The Bouquet, the Ring, the Crown and other accessories have a special meaning.

The birthday girl sits in the seat of honor near the altar. The ladies can accompany up to 14 (representing the first 14 years) with his Chambelanes. A Chambelan of Honor also accompanies the QuinceaƱera. The ladies are chosen from other girls who have recently turned 15 or are close to meeting them.

Prayer of Thanksgiving and Blessing of the gifts or gifts during the Mass and the Eucharist is the culmination of the mass. However, nothing can match the emotional moment in which the celebrated delivers a bouquet of flowers on the altar to the Virgin Mary, usually Our Lady of Guadalupe. According to the possibilities of each family, the dress can be more simple or sophisticated, but always something special and pastel.

The white color is widely used among the Mexican community in the United States but in Mexico that color is reserved for the bride on her wedding day. The rest of the accessories must match with the dress.
